If your spouse lost their job, here’s how to provide support and encouragement.

  1. Have and practice compassion.

  5. Become a source of encouragement.
  6. Don’t neglect your sexual relationship.

Can you still buy a house if you’re laid off?

In fact, some lenders may require you to be at that new job for a certain period of time — anywhere from one to three months, or possibly even longer — before making your mortgage official.
